Wanda Harder, 77, of Plainview, died on Sunday, December 14, 2008, in Amarillo. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M., Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Travis Hart officiating. There will be a private burial under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Harder was born on January 26, 1931, in Kress, Texas, the eleventh of twelve children born to Coy and Lena Meador. She married Jerry Harder on December 18th, 1948 and graduated from Plainview High School in 1949. Although involved in many organizations and community projects, such as the Salvation Army of which she was a board member for six years, her life revolved around her children and her husband. She was a Sunday school teacher for the Library Class of First Baptist Church for many years and served her church in various capacities on several committees. An avid writer, she enjoyed presenting many informative programs for chapter BL of P.E.O. of which she was a cherished and long time member. She also supported her family’s business by working during harvest for Southwestern Grain during many seasons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lena & Coy Meador, her in-laws, Ruth and Carroll Harder, brothers, Hoyt, Chester, Dub, Raymond, Thomas & Lupe Meador and sisters, Pearl Lusby, Oleta McAvoy & Margaret Castleberry. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Harder of Plainview, one son, Mike Harder and wife Sharon of Plainview, two daughters, Lisa Potts and husband Randy of Dallas, Martha Mackay and husband Ian of Amarillo, one brother, Mack Meador of Seattle, WA, one sister, Jackie Persefield of Amarillo, grandchildren, Amy and Brent McGavock, Jordan and Ashley Harder, Andy and Ashley Harder, Brennan and Jenna Potts, Barry Potts, Lauren Mackay and Matt Mackay, great grandchildren, Caroline and Major McGavock, Paige and Cal Harder and Hudson Harder, and her faithful caregiver, Jennie Monroe.
