Tulia, Texas—Daphne Hale, 97, died Thursday, March 26, 2015 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, April 4, 2015 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Stone, pastor and Rev. Charles Davenport, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 3, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Daphne was born on November 13, 1917 to W.O. and Ruth Owens in Tulia. She grew up and lived all her life in Tulia. She married Carl L. Hale, Jr. on July 27, 1935. Daphne has been a member of the First Baptist Church since Feb. 3, 1935 and served as secretary for several years. She went on a mission trip to Japan in 1970 and later grand mothered several young men that came to go to school at WT in Canyon. She was active in different organizations. Also, as secretary and bookkeeper at various businesses. She is preceded in death by her dad: W.O. Owens,her mom: Ruth Giese, who later married Adolph Giese, her husband, her son: J. T. Hale, two great grandsons: Bobby Beilstein and Jacob Rogers, her daughter-in-law: Carolyn Ann Hale, her sisters: Eva Edwards and Iris Leinen, her brothers: Marion Giese, Robert Owens and Herbert Owens. She is survived by her son: Richard Hale of Tulia, her daughter: Carolyn Culwell and husband Theron of St. Francis, Kansas, her daughter-in-law: Barbara Hale of Southhaven, Mississippi, two sisters-in-law: Wilma Hale of Tulia and Vinetta Hale of Tucson, Arizona, nine grandchildren: Rhonda and Jeff Rogers of Kress, TX, Gena and Gene Aduddell of Garland, TX, Cindy and Don Beilstein of Nesbet, MS, Terry and Joy Hale of Arizona, Jim and Shari Culwell of McDonald, KS, Clint and Lucy Culwell of Bushland, TX, Shelly and Dave Peckham of Sidney, NE, Jesse and Lynn Laten of St. Francis, KS, and Aaron and Toni Culwell of Atwood, KS. Also 22 Great Grandchildren: Jenny and Mark Bezner of Dalhart, TX, Megan and Hayden Mitchell of Garland, TX, Melissa, Mason and Mackenzie Aduddell of Garland, TX, Mariann and Chris Word of Southhaven, MS, Jenna and Jordan Hale of Arizona, Brittny and Marcos DeLeon of Pampa, TX, Justin Culwell of McDonald, KS, Caitlyn, Caylee and Carah Culwell of Bushland, TX, Colton and Jacob Peckham of Sidney, NE, Jylian, Dallas and Landen Laten of St. Francis, Ks, and Dorian and Drew Culwell of Atwood, KS, four great-great grandchildren: Brock and Carson Bezner of Dalhart, TX, Breanna Word of Southhaven, MS, and Brylee DeLeon of Pampa, TX, and many nieces and nephews and friends.
