Laverne Jerry Wall (Plainview)

Laverne Jerry Wall, 87, died on April 1, 2015 in Lubbock. Memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Bacon Heights Baptist Church in Lubbock with Truman Johnson officiating. Family graveside service will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 4, 2015 in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Bacon Heights Baptist Church, 5110 54th Street, Lubbock, Texas. Mr. Wall was born on March 28, 1928 in Lamesa, Texas to Elbert G. & Ethel L. Wall. He married Rose Marie Blandford on February 12, 1954 in Portales, New Mexico. He graduated from Dora High School in Dora, New Mexico in 1945. Mr. Wall served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. He worked for the telephone company for 36 years. Mr. Wall was a member of Bacon Heights Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife: Rose Wall of Lubbock, one daughter: Diana Pape & husband Phillip of Red Oak, Texas; one son: Bruce Wall & wife Sue of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two brothers: T.C. Wall & wife Peggy of Plainview and Gary Wall of Lubbock; two sisters: Janie Johns of Lubbock and Geneva Graves of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
