W.C. “Bill” Clark, 100, of Kress passed away on April 7, 2015 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Kress with Rev. Will Fish officiating. Burial will follow in the Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 6:30-8 PM at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Bill was born on August 15, 1914 in Hollis, Oklahoma. He grew up in Aiken, Texas and attended schools there. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1933. He attended Wayland Baptist College where he loved to play basketball. He was a farmer and farmed in Hale and Swisher Counties for over 40 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kress where he also served as a Deacon and a Sunday school teacher for many years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Kress Senior Citizens, Swisher Co-op Gin board, and R.S.V.P. where he was awarded Volunteer of the Year. Bill loved many things in his life but one of his pride and joys was his orchard. Bill married Clovesta Alexander on July 20, 1938. She preceded him in death on June 1, 1996. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Johnnie Clark; and two sisters, Mary Dalton, Lorene Dorman. He is survived by his three children, Carolyn Mason and husband Bobby of North Richland Hills, Betty Sue Sisemore and husband Bobby of Kress, Danny Clark and wife Vicki of Lockney; one brother, R.L. Clark of Plainview; one sister, Mildred Myrick of Plainview; one brother-in-law, Dempsey Alexander of Hereford; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren and two on the way. The Clark family would like to give a special thanks to the Westridge Manor, its residents who became friends and all the dedicated staff who so lovingly cared for him the last 3 ½ years. The family suggests memorials to go to the First Baptist Church of Kress, Gideons International, or the Kress Cemetery.
