Trevor Jay McGavock, 39, of Plainview, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2008, in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M. Friday, December 26, 2008, at the Garland Street Church of Christ with Mr. Anthony Dominguez and Dr. Steven Turner assisting. Burial will follow in Silverton Cemetery in Silverton, Texas under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Trevor was born on July 6, 1969 in Amarillo to John and Venita McGavock. He grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1988. He attended and graduated from Texas Tech University with his Bachelors of Science Degree in the RHIM Program. He moved to Dallas and worked for Marie Gabriel’s and then he went to work for the headquarters of Exxon-Mobile as their food service director. He later moved to Pasadena, California and went to work for Morrison Management Specialists, the nation's only specialist dedicated exclusively to healthcare and senior dining. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Trevor was preceded in death by his grandmother, Daphne Fern McGavock. Survivors include a daughter, Haleigh McGavock of Denton, Texas, his parents, John and Venita McGavock of Plainview, Texas; a brother, Gabriel McGavock of McKinney, Texas; sister, Amanda Hamilton of Plainview, Texas; paternal grandfather, J.D. McGavock of Silverton; and maternal grandparents, Ray and Nelda Teeple of Silverton, Texas. The family suggests memorials to be made to American Cancer Society, 3411 73rd St., Lubbock, Texas 79423.
