J.W. Green (Plainview)

J. W. Green, 79, of Plainview, died on Thursday, December 25, 2008, in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at Full Armor Ministries, with Bishop Leonard Chatham officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6-8 P.M. Monday, December 29, 2008. Mr. Green was born on February 26, 1929, in Lamar County, Texas. He grew up and lived in Plainview. He married Eloise Green in Amarillo. She preceded him in death in 2006. He owned Green’s Cab Service in Plainview and Amarillo. J.W. was a very adventurous man who loved to travel. He was very classy and carefree and lived his life to the fullest. He loved and was loved by his whole family. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, Sam and Martha Hearn, a step-son, Ricky Wilson and several brothers & sisters. He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Green-Williams & Sandra Green of Lubbock, one son, Gary Green of Lubbock, a step-daughter, Doris Wilson of Amarillo, two step-sons, Glenn & James Wilson of Amarillo, one brother, George (Pamela) Hearn of Terrell, four sisters, Rhodie (Herbert) Steward of Plainview, Flordia (Tyrone) Coleman of Plainview, Arma Gentry of Denton, & Ruby Hearn of Plainview, one uncle, O.C. Marshall of Plainview, twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
