Mary Lou Anderson Reams (Plainview)

Mary Lou Anderson Reams, 87, of Plainview, died on Friday, December 26, 2008, in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel, with Larry Frank of Denton, Texas officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Mrs. Reams was born on January 25, 1921, in Perry County, Kentucky to McCoy and Nancy Griffith Anderson. She married Sidney Odeneal Reams on December 21, 1940. Mary Lou was a registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science from Wayland Baptist College and a Masters in Family Relations from Texas Tech University. She served a long career in nursing, was an instructor at the Plainview School of Nursing, and retired as a Hale Center School nurse. Mary Lou was a past matron of Eastern Star, member of several quilters clubs, bridge clubs, and had enjoyed world travels, oil painting and crafts. She was a faithful Christian member of the Church of Christ. She and her husband, Sid, were charter members of the Tenth and Utica Church of Christ, now known as the Garland Street Church of Christ. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband Sid, a sister Bessie Lewis, a sister Dicie Deaton, and a brother Willis Anderson. Survivors are her sons: Melvin Reams and wife Amey of Round Rock, Texas, David Reams of Amarillo, Texas, and Tommy Reams of Amarillo, Texas, grandchildren: Shelia Keefer and husband Tim of Austin, Texas, Stephanie Wood and husband Alan of Carlsbad, NM, Marcus Reams of Rehoboth, Delaware, Steven Reams and wife Sherry of Platteville, Colorado, and eight great grandchildren.
