Betty Huffine, 75, of Plainview, passed away at 7:32 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Covenant Medical Center of Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2006 at First Baptist Church Sanctuary with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Huffine was born on March 28, 1930 in Liberal, Kansas to Jesse Edward and Ada Miller Slattery. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1948. She had been an elevator operator at the Skaggs Building and a telephone operator with South Western Bell for 20 years. She married Marvin Huffine on December 26, 1950 in Plainview. She owned and managed Rick’s Lasting Impressions from 1982 until 1994. She was a member of First Baptist Church and taught pre-school children at Sunday School for over 50 years. Mrs. Huffine is survived by her husband, Marvin Huffine of Plainview; one daughter Lori McWilliams and husband Bruce of Allen, two sons Ricky Huffine of Plainview, Danny Huffine and wife Rachel of Tuscola; six grandchildren, Dane, Joseph and Anna Grace McWilliams, Brink, Jesse, and Roxy Huffine.
