Mildred Pruitt, 86, of Plainview, passed away on May 2, 2015. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Kornerstone Funeral Chapel with Dr. Tim Marrow of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, May 4, 2015 at the funeral home. Mildred was born on April 13, 1928 in Tulia, Texas to Floy Franklin and Zadie Joyce Foster. She grew up on the family farm near Claytonville and was a lifetime resident of Swisher and Hale Counties. She attended the Price schoolhouse and then Kress before graduating from Plainview High School in 1946. Mildred worked for Sears for many years before becoming an EMT. She retired in 1997. She was a member of the Pastor’s Sunday School Class and member of the Methodist Church. Mildred married Don Pruitt on March 18, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Alene Barrett. She is survived by her husband, Don Pruitt of Plainview; son, David Bruce Barrett of Hua Hin, Thailand; one brother, Floyd Foster and wife Frances of Claytonville; 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
