Mattie Elizabeth Huddleston, 101, of Plainview, passed away Monday, January 5, 2009, in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Kyle Streun officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be from 6-7 P.M., Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at the funeral home. Mrs. Huddleston was born on January 15, 1907 in Johnson County, Missouri to George and Mazie Boone Harmon. She married Andrew Daniel Huddleston on April 23, 1929 in Odessa, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1983. Mrs. Huddleston was an active member of First Baptist Church of Halfway and a charter member of the Halfway Home Demonstration Club. She was a member of RSVP where she was selected RSVP volunteer of the month on two occasions. Mrs. Huddleston was named Pioneer Woman of the Plains in 1991. Survivors include one daughter: Nova Sherman and husband Joe of Plainview; two granddaughters: Jennifer Streun and husband Kyle of Hereford and Janna Bennett of Plainview and six great grandchildren: Jordan Streun, KayLea Streun and Jackson Streun all of Hereford and Andrew Bennett, Riley Bennett and Tanner Bennett all of Plainview. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers: Roy Harmon and Claude B. Harmon. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Halfway or a favorite charity.
