Tulia, Texas—Elizabeth D. Amburn, 95, died Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Karen Young, pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Elizabeth was born on January 6, 1920 in Floyd County, Texas to Arthur and Dulcie Beedy. She grew up in Floyd Co. She married Glen Amburn on October 22, 1943 in Floydada. They moved to Tulia in 1961. She was the secretary for KTUE Radio in Tulia for a few years. She also worked for Bell Telephone for several years and Ed Harris Lumber for 20 years where she retired. Her husband, Glen, died February 9, 2014. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tulia. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters. She is survived by three sons: Terry Amburn of Amarillo, Ron Amburn of Walkerton, Ontario, Canada and Jay Amburn of Tulia. One brother: Wayne Beedy of Ft. Worth, five sisters: Marian Lafayette of Bedford, Margaret Henry of Bedford, Ruth Day of California, Beatrice Global of California and Juanice Welch of Austin, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
