Tulia, Texas—Mattie Lee Malone Ingram, 95, died Thursday, May 21, 2015 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 23, 2015 in the Calvary Baptist Church with Mr. Elvin Norris and Rev. Eddy Helms officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 to 12:00 on Saturday. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. She was born on April 26, 1920 to Eric and Lavern Malone in Swisher County. She graduated Tulia High School in 1938 and attended Draughon’s Business College in Lubbock for one year before she married Samuel T. Ingram (Sam) on June 22, 1940 in Canyon. They moved to California in October 1940. She worked for North American Aviation until 1945. They moved back to Texas and lived on the farm 20 years before moving to Tulia in 1965. She worked in the Tulia Public Schools lunch room for 24 years. After she retired she volunteered for the County Library and Good Shepherd Outreach for many years. She made many quilt tops for this organization. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School and Training Union in the Jr. Dept. She was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers and one sister and her husband of 44 years. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Ronald and Gerry Ingram of Vega and Richard and Betty Ingram of Littlefield, four grandchildren: Steve and Jamie Ingram of Cypress, Robyn and Garrett Pye of Houston, Lori and Tony Persyn of San Antonio and Cari and Mike Moye of Lubbock, seven great grandchildren: Kayla and Abby Ingram, triplets: Jake, Zach and Page Pye, Jake Persyn and Olivia Moye, one sister-in-law: Peggy Malone of Lubbock and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
