Melvin Kelm, 78, passed away at 3:09 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2006 at his residence in Plainview. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Gerald Boerger, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Kelm was born August 4, 1927 in Burlington to Albert T. and Bertha Aginer Kelm. At the age of two he moved to the Providence Community and attended school in Providence and graduated from Plainview High School. He had served in the Army from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict. Melvin married Wanda Chester at Littlefield on October 9, 1951. He was a member and served as councilman at Trinity Lutheran Church until he moved to Plainview in 1967 and transferred his membership to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Melvin farmed North East of Plainview and retired from custom farming and farming in 1998. He is survived by his wife Wanda Kelm of Plainview; two sons Ricky Kelm and Jerry Kelm both of Plainview; one brother Donald Kelm of Plainview; four grandchildren Melissa Tucker, Jerry Dale Kelm, Jr, Ashley Kelm, Jason Kelm.
