Tulia, Texas—Lloyd H. “Doc” Cannon, 82, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 16, 2009 in Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Eddy Helms, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Cannon was born January 2, 1927 in Turkey where he grew up. He was a medic in the US Army in WWII and also served in the US Army from 1957 to 1958. He was a registered Medical Assistant and was a counselor for AA for over 20 years and worked for the Driskill Halfway House in Tulia for 10 of those years. Survivors include a niece; Kathie Zuniga of Tulia and two nephews; Lewis Cannon and Robert Cannon both of Tulia. He is preceded in death by his parents; Alex Boothe Cannon and Ada Susy Roberts Cannon and two brothers; Carl B. Cannon and Marvin L. Cannon.
