Lois Baker, 85, of Plainview, died on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at Prairie House Living Center. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 22, 2009, at College Heights Baptist Church, with Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. Baker was born on February 26, 1923 in Spur, Texas, to Tom and Vella Rape. She married Leonard Baker on May 30, 1942, in Spur, Texas. They lived in Spur until 1946 when they moved to Plainview. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. She was a past President of the PTA at College Hill School and she also served as a Den Mother. She worked for Sears for 26 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Leonard Wayne Baker on August 1, 1992. Survivors include her husband, Leonard Baker of Plainview, one son, Tommy Baker and wife Carolyn of Plainview, two brothers, Melvin Reeb of Olton and Nelson Rape of Afton, one sister, Doris Harris of Quitman and two grandchildren, Patricia Kammerdiener and husband Paul of Plainview and Larry Baker of Dalhart. The family suggests memorials to the Building Fund at College Heights Baptist Church.
