Neva Dickens(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Neva Dickens, 89, died Thursday, January 22, 2009 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Central Church of Christ with Trey Morgan, former pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Neva was born November 9, 1919 in Oklahoma. She grew up in Gaines Co., Texas. She married Sam Dickens on January 26, 1935 in Gaines County. They moved to Tulia in 1944. She was a housewife and a member of Central Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters; Glenda Taylor of Amarillo and Tenna Dunn of Austin and two sons; Jim Dickens of Lubbock and Jerry Dickens of Huntsville, 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 10 great, great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Dickens, he died in August 1994, one son; Roy Dean Dickens and one daughter; Pauline Nelson.
