Bruce Buchanan(Plainview)

Bruce Buchanan, 86, of Plainview passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Bruce was born July 1, 1928 in Plainview, Texas to James Earl and Ora Maye (Fain) Buchanan. He grew up in Plainview. He worked for Clover Lake Dairy and farmed in Hale County from 1946 to 1992. He then worked for Primerica Insurance Company where he served as a Regional Vice President before retiring in 2005. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He married Betty Faye Neel on May 11, 1946 in Portales, N.M. She preceded him in death on January 30, 2005. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Thresa Jan Buchanan. Survivors include his three sons, Mike Buchanan of Plainview, Pat Buchanan and wife Judy of Plainview, Mark Buchanan of Lubbock; one sister, Jonell McCulloch of Lubbock; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren..
