Allen Kenneth Talley, Jr., 69, of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 in Lubbock, TX. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Kornerstone Funeral Chapel with Mr. Oscar Chavez, Chaplain for Area Community Hospice officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, July 3, 2015 at the funeral home. Kenneth was born on September 9, 1945 to Allen K, Sr. & Louise Gibbons Talley in Tempe, Arizona. He was raised and attended schools in Farwell, TX. He moved to Cotton Center in 1982 where he farmed until his retirement in 2005. He later drove a truck until his health declined. He is preceded in death by his second wife, Dorothy Cogdell; two brothers, David & Bobby Talley; one sister, Linda Hatla; one granddaughter, Rebecca Nicole Talley. He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Porter of Plainview, TX and Diane Talley of Arlington, TX; two sons, Kenny Dean Talley of Midland, TX, and Justin Talley of Plainview, TX; three brothers, Bill Talley, Wayne Gilreath, both of Plainview, TX and Steve Talley of Houston, TX; two sisters, Allene Edge of Clovis, NM and Mary Woodale of Woodward, OK; four grandchildren, Katie Esquivel & husband Sebastian, Roxanne Swopes & husband Danny, Kenneth Dean Talley, Jr., and Shelby Elizabeth Talley; three great grandchildren, Blaine Pepin, Dani and Nathaniel Swopes. He is also survived by his first and last wife and the mother of his children, Janice Hughes Talley of Plainview, TX; former partner Ruby Pinkerton of Halfway, TX; and one sister-in-law Linda Talley. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 8008 Slide Road #12A, Lubbock, TX 79424.
