Ernestine Strange Barnes(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Ernestine Strange Barnes, 78, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Ernestine was born on November 5, 1936 in Silverton to Ernest and Ollie Strange. She grew up in Silverton and graduated from Silverton High School in 1955. She married O.B. Barnes on August 7, 1955. They moved to Tulia where she was a homemaker and a mother to her two children. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister: Joy Reeves and a brother: Louie Strange. She is survived by her two children: Jana and Max Stephens and Mikeal and Debra Barnes. Her grandchildren: Blaine and Sarah Barnes, Tim and Molly Barnes, Whitney and Matt Settles. Her great grandchildren: Degan, Keslar and Bonnar Barnes, Raiden Stephens, Eli and Paisleigh Settles and Adlee Barnes (due in September), her brother: Bud Strange, her sisters-in-law: Mary Strange, Bette Cogdell, Patte Damron and April Oldfield, her brothers-in-law: David and Debbie Barnes, Jim Bob and Connie Barnes and numerous nieces and nephews.
