Charles Berry Eversole, 64, of Plainview, died on Saturday, February 7, 2009, at Covenant Hospital in Plainview. Visitation will be from 6-7 P.M., Monday, February 9, 2009, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel, with Rev. Jim Ritter of Seth Ward Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche, OK, under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Eversole was born on June 29, 1944 in Comanche, Oklahoma, to Charles and Mildred Eversole. He was a chemistry teacher at Plainview High School and he had also worked in the fertilizer industry. He served in the U.S. Army as a Drill Sergeant. He was an avid golfer, loved boating and also cooking. He loved his dogs and his grandchildren were the lights of his life. He was a wonderful husband, daddy and papa. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Eversole and a brother, Melvin Eversole. Survivors include his wife, Linda Eversole of Plainview, two daughters, Lisa Wilcox & husband Zach of Roscoe and Julie Whitley & husband Daniel of Albany, his mother & step-dad, Mildred & James Hughes of Plainview, one sister, Frances Schnee & husband Ron of Lawton, OK, three grandchildren, Megan Wilcox of Roscoe, Seth Wilcox of Roscoe and Brylie Whitley of Albany and several nieces and nephews.. The family suggests memorials to the scholarship fund at Plainview High School.
