Tulia, Texas— Sonia Peña Comans , 48, died Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with cremation services to follow. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Sonia was born July 30, 1966 in Plainview, Texas to Zaragoza and Aurora Pena. Sonia received her GED in 1993 and later went to work for the State of Texas at the prison for sixteen years. She later became disabled and could not work anymore. She would think of others before herself. She enjoyed reading books and her kids meant more to her than anything else in this world and she loved them very much. She is preceded in death by her mother: Aurora Fernandez and her brother: Joe Fernandez. She is survived by her two daughters: Angela Comans and Gwendolyn Comans; three sons: Christopher Comans, Matthew Comans and Adam Comans; her brother and sisters: Mary Magdalena Vega, Zaragoza (Tom) Peña, Jr., Jessie Peña, Tomas Peña, Mary Lou Contreras and Oscar Peña; and fifteen grandchildren.
