Juanita Simmons, 95, of Plainview, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at First Baptist Church Family Life Chapel with Dr. Tim Marrow officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Juanita was born October 12, 1919 in Electra, TX to R.J. & Beulah Parks. She married Alvis Charles Simmons on January 24, 1940 in Plainview, TX. They enjoyed square dancing and camping in New Mexico and Colorado. She was a seamstress and loved making special outfits for her family and friends as well as the public. Juanita was a beloved caregiver of children, sometimes spanning to multigenerations of family and friends. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the funeral home. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Pat Brown & husband Bill of Plainview, TX; one son, Stan Simmons & wife Carrell Ann of Denton, TX; five grandchildren, Mark Brown & wife Jana of Wolfforth, TX, Shelley Cannon & husband Mike of Aubrey, TX, Scott Simmons & wife Kimberly of Aledo, TX, Daron Brown & wife Kristi of Plainview, TX and Debbie Foreman & husband Brent of Yukon, OK, ten great grandchildren, Logan & Sawyer Gillingham of Aubrey, TX, Michael & Cassidy Cannon of Aubry, TX, Alyssa, Baylee & Jaxon Simmons of Aledo, TX, Melody & Cord Brown of Plainview, TX, Payton & Weston Brown of Wolfforth, TX and Robby & Kodi Foreman of Yukon, OK.
