Tulia, Texas—Billie Frankie Lawson, 87, died Sunday, February 8, 2009 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Ed Soules, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Frankie was born May 2, 1921 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Frank C and Selida Estelle "Tellie" (Ward) Pearson. She moved to Tulia in 1933, she always said she got here as soon as she could and lived here for 76 years. She was a housewife. She married Everett Elkins in 1937. He preceded her in death in 1969; she married Cecil Rice in 1970 and he preceded her in death in 1987. She married Tom Lawson in 1988 and he preceded her in death in 1999. She was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church. Her main enjoyment was her family. Survivors include two daughters: Swanee Gibson and husband Gared of Tulia and Denna Hockaday and husband Joe of Tulia. One brother: Edgar Pearson of Tulia, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and six great, great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one son; Doye Elkins in 2004.
