Tulia, Texas—Eluteria R. Macias, 87, died Thursday, August 6, 2015 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 8, 2015 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Marco Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 6:00 pm at the funeral home chapel. Eluteria was born on February 10, 1928 in Elsa, Texas to Albino and Maria Ruiz. She grew up in Elsa, Texas and married Toribio Macias Sr. in 1950. They moved to Tulia in 1974 and worked in housekeeping for Swisher Memorial Hospital and retired in 1991. She attended the Church of the Holy Spirit. Her husband Toribio preceded her in death on December 12, 2005. Eluteria loved to dance and enjoyed playing bingo with her husband. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters: Maya Ruiz and Esperansa Silvas, one son-in-law: Erasmo Cuellar. She is survived by eight daughters: Mary Guzman and husband Richard of Tulia, Janie Rios and husband Domingo, Jr. of Tulia, Connie Iglesias and husband Paul of Lamesa, Sylvia Macias of Tulia, Florestella Cuellar of Zapata, Paula Frausto and husband David of Tulia, Carmen Garcia and husband Billy Ray of Tulia, Helen Trevino and husband Dan of Alabama; two sons: Toribio Macias, Jr. and wife Amelia of Lockney, Manuel Macias and wife Angela of Cordell, Oklahoma; two brothers: Antonio Ruiz and Alberto Ruiz both of Elsa; one sister: Andrea Ruiz of Elsa, 36 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.
