Nancy Lea Houchin (Plainview)

Nancy Lea Houchin, 68, of Plainview passed away on September 1, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Houchin Family Cemetery located on the Houchin Family Farm. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Nancy was born on April 16, 1947 in Stephenville, Texas to Julian and Ruth Swayze. She grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1965. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. She loved to cook and enjoyed working in the garden. She also loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Nancy is preceded in death by her son, Hap Houchin, a grandson, Heath Houchin, and her parents. Survivors include her daughter, Dawn Dee Mason of Plainview; son, Dustin Houchin of New Port News, Virginia; sister, Cheryl Swayze of Cleburne; three grandchildren, Whitney Payne of Levelland, Zach Walker of Plainview, Darcie Mason of Plainview; and three great grandchildren, Shane Taylor, Kash Walker, and Noah Payne. The family suggests memorials to the National Parkinson Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
