Leonard Leon Vineyard (Plainview)

Leonard Leon Vineyard, 85, passed away on September 3, 2015 in Kress, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 5, 2015 at 4 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Kress, Texas with Bill Fuller officiating. Internment will follow at Kress cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. A visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M on Friday September 4, 2015 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Leon was born January 12, 1930 in Kress, TX to Ronald and Georgia Vineyard. He attended school at Center Plains and graduated from Kress High School in 1947. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1951 where he served time in France until he was honorably discharged in 1953. He married the love of his life, Mary Nell Mason on November, 9, 1956 in Kress, TX. He was a farmer most of his life, a member of the First Baptist Church in Kress and was a life member of the VFW. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister Oleta Alexander and one nephew Vance Alexander. Leon is survived by his wife Mary Nell Vineyard; three daughters, Janis Davis and her husband Eddie of Canyon, TX; Tonya Finch and her husband Chris of Canyon, TX; and Tamara McCasland and her husband Jack of Plainview, TX; seven grandchildren; Jeremy Davis and wife Trish of Canyon; Amber Davis of Canyon, TX; Matt Davis of Pryor, OK; Danielle McCasland of Houston, TX; Taylor McCasland of Plainview, TX; Trey Finch and wife Kayla of Waco, TX; and Whitney Finch of Bynum, TX; three Great Grandchildren; Riley Quirk of Canyon, TX; Lorelai Davis of Canyon, TX; and Hayden Finch of Waco, TX; two brothers; Ben Vineyard of Kress, TX and Melvin Vineyard of Idalou, TX.
