Alison Marie Mercado (Plainview)

Alison Marie Mercado, 40, of Hereford passed away on Monday, February 16, 2009. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Arsenio Redulla officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Mercado was born on June 5, 1968 in Fredricksburg, Texas to Matilde and Antonia Castillo. She married Ricky Mercado on December 3, 1988 in Friona. Alison was a Mom that was always on the road to attend a track meet, softball game or a golf meet to encourage her girls to be the best. Survivors include her husband: Ricky Mercado; three daughters: Kristen Mercado of San Antonio, Kayla Mercado and Kimberly Mercado both of Hereford; her mother: Antonia Castillo of Plainview; one brother: Edward Castillo and wife JoAnn of Plainview; two sisters: Lupe Castillo of Plainview and Martha Branson and husband Glen of Keller. She was preceded in death by her father: Matilde Castillo. A rosary service will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at the funeral home.
