Wanda Ruth Stanton Cox, 88, of Lockney passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 26, 2015 in the Kornerstone Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dennis Butler of Aiken Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Lockney Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Kornerstone. Wanda was born on July 27, 1927 in Hale Center, Texas to C.S and Eva Stanton. She graduated from high school in Plainview. She also attended Lippert’s Business College. Wanda married Doug Cox on October 19, 1946 and was a farmer’s wife and a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time and keeping up with her children and grandchildren. She also loved to Square Dance, Play Bridge, and travel and her family claims that she was the best cook ever. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clifford and Perry Stanton, and a sister, Ann Stanton. Wanda is survived by her husband of 68 years, Doug Cox of Lockney; two daughters, Cheryl Bass and husband Jon of Plainview, Vickie Glenn and husband Mike of Lubbock; two sons, Galon Cox and wife Cindy of Stephenville, Jerry Cox and wife Gail of Plainview; 10 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren and one on the way.
