Tammie Smith (Plainview)

Tammie Bernice Smith, 47, of Plainview passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015 in Plainview. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Trinity Baptist Church in Olton with Rev. Arturo DeLaCruz officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Tammie was born March 1, 1968 in Socorro, New Mexico to David and Mary Jo Daniels. She grew up in Tulia and later moved to Plainview. She was a Manager for Just Smokes and worked for them for 12 years. She then worked for Wal-Mart for several years. She was a loving mother and Nana and would do anything for her children and grandchildren. She was a strong believer in her Christian faith and she was an avid supporter of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. She was the definition of a survivor and never let life get the best of her. She is preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Smith; parents, David and Mary Jo Daniels; daughter, Christie Daniels; brother, Grady Knipe; and a nephew, Derrik Daniels. Tammie is survived by her daughter, Tori Ross of Plainview; two sons, James Ruben of Plainview, Brian Ruben of Abilene; brother, David Daniels of Plainview; and 9 grandchildren.
