Services for Hattie Lee Soders Johnson, 89, of Hale Center will be held 10:00 am Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Church of Christ in Hale Center with Bill Smith, minister, officiating and George Lee Johnson assisting. Burial will follow in Hale Center Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Hattie Johnson was born in Giddings, Texas on January 12, 1926 to Jim Willie Johnson and Martha Bridgewater McGee. She died September 28, 2015 in Plainview, Texas. She married James Johnson on December 10, 1939 in Belton, Texas. They moved to Shallowater in 1949 where her husband worked as a farmer. In 1955 they moved to Cotton Center and later moved to Hale Center in 1970. She was employed at Hi-Plains Hospital for many years. She was a faithful member of the Hale Center Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her children, Katherine Carreathers, James Johnson, Jr., Clay Johnson, George Lee Johnson, her siblings, Myrtle Lee Young "Baby Ruth", Vernice Draper and a grandson, Shawn Lewis. She is survived by one son, Charles Johnson of Happy, TX, two daughters, Gloria Lewis of Grants, NM and Ruby Ards of Hale Center, three brothers, R.D. Legans of Dallas, TX, Robert McGee and Alvin McGee, both of Lubbock, four sisters, Catherine Govan, Mattie Johsnon, Martha Watkins all of Lubbock and Clarisse Sanders of Dallas. She had many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
