Tanya Mireles Rains (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Tanya Mireles Rains, 41, died on October 11, 2015 in Amarillo, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 15, 2015 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Marco Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Tanya was born on November 3, 1973 in Tulia, Texas to Ruben and Irene Mireles. She was a member of the 1991 Tulia High School State Basketball Championship Team. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1992. She attended West Texas University and majored in journalism and was a founder of the Kappa Delta Chi, Hispanic Sorority. In 1995 she attended Executive School in Dallas. She married William Brandon “Billy” Rains on September 20, 2009 in Tulia. Tanya enjoyed camping, fishing, playing the guitar, singing and loved kids and butterflies. She is survived her husband: William Brandon “Billy” Rains of Amarillo, her parents: Ruben and Irene Mireles of Tulia, two brothers: Ruben Mireles, Jr. and Richard Alexander Mireles, both of Amarillo, her in-laws: Linda and Neal Morris of Tulia, her grandmother: Mary Lou Chapa of Tulia, her nieces and nephews: Aleza Ann Mireles, Zavier Ruben Mireles, Brandon Ballard, Bryce Ballard, Brennen Ballard and Olivia Rains and her dog: Remi Rains.
