Tulia, Texas—David Hurt, 66, died on Friday, October 16, 2015 in Tulia. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, October 19, 2015 in the Rose Hill Cemetery with Mr. Lamar McBride officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. David was born on July 31, 1949 in Hydro, Oklahoma to Gracie and Ed Hurt. He grew up in Matador. He married Linda Cagle on September 15, 1968 in Tulia. He was a lifelong mechanic working for different grain elevators in Tulia. They moved to Bakersfield, CA where he worked for an Auto paint and body shop. After five years they moved to Alabama he was a mechanic for 12 years. They moved back to Tulia in 2003. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Dallas, Thomas (Tuck) Hurt, Hubbert (Buck) Hurt, Darwin (Willie) Hurt and Roy Lee Hurt, sisters: Reba Thornsberry, Maxine Gilbert and Alma Jean Davis and his son: Dean Hurt. He is survived by his wife: Linda Hurt of the home, two brothers: Robert (Bobby) Hurt and Eugene Hurt, both of Tulia, a great granddaughter they are raising: Jahda Davis of the home, three daughters: Shelly Bengston of Amarillo, Dana Guess of Bakersfield, CA and Jamie Haddock of Tulia, 8 grandkids and 9 great grandkids.
