Tulia, Texas-Frances Hodges, 87, died on Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Tulia. Celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 11, 2015 in the Central Church of Christ with Mr. Rick Bloodworth and Mr. Larry Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Frances was born in Parmer County on May 19, 1928 to Lee and Blanche Sudderth. She was raised on a farm near Bovina, TX and attended Texas Tech College. At Tech she met and married the love of her life SA Hodges. They were married on February 28, 1947 in Lubbock. They moved to Hale Center and farmed until 1955 when they moved to Happy and farmed. They moved to Tulia in 1980 where SA and Frances became Real Estate Brokers and Certified Appraisers and opened Hodges Real Estate. Frances was very active in the Swisher Historical Commission where she served as Chairman and was instrumental in bringing the Tulia Depot back to life. Frances was very active in the Tulia Community and Central Church of Christ. Frances enjoyed her garden and her home. She will be cherished and remembered as a loving wife, mother and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, two sons: Greg Hodges and Brent Hodges, nine brothers and five sisters. She is survived by two daughters-in-law: Connie Wilson Hodges of St. Joseph, Missouri, Linda Looney Hodges of Amarillo, an adopted son and daughter-in-law: Ross and Tanya James of Tulia, a best friend (BFF) Mary Milam of Tulia. Two adopted granddaughters: Sarah Elizabeth James of Ft. Worth, Shanna Denice James of Amarillo. Three sisters-in-law: Danita Sudderth of Lubbock, Peggy Sudderth of Farwell and Mary Sudderth of San Antonio. Frances leaves behind many special nieces, nephews and dear friends.
