Viola McCain (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Viola McCain, 99, died on Sunday, November 29, 2015 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 3, 2015 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Charles Davenport and Rev. Jason Stone, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Viola was born on November 10, 1916 in Delwin, Texas to Ellen Magnolia and Avery Jackson Barton. She grew up in Delwin. She married J. T. McCain on April 13, 1935. They moved to Tulia in 1956. She was a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church in Tulia. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother: A.J. Barton, her sister: Jewel Thompson and her daughter-in-law; Pat McCain. She is survived by; her daughter: June Doan and husband Billy of Lumberton, her son: Don McCain of Tulia, her sister: Ione Thomas of Ft. Worth, four grandchildren: Kim Hill and husband Brad of Tulia, Kristi Lamb of Tulia, Michael Doan and wife Katie of Lumberton and David Doan and wife Adina of Frisco and 12 great grandchildren.
