Elouise Brewster Rieff, of Cotton Center passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 14, 2009, in First Baptist Church of Plainview, with Dr. Travis Hart officiating and assisted by Rev. Kenneth Coates. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation for family and friends will be from 6-7:30 P.M., Friday, March 13, 2009, at the funeral home. Mrs. Rieff was born on August 4, 1926 in Taylor County, Texas to Thomas Albert & Eulala Fain Brewster. She married Henry Rieff on June 8, 1947 in Cotton Center, Texas. Mrs. Rieff grew up in Cotton Center, and graduated from Cotton Center High School in 1943. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Master’s Degree from Hardin-Simmons in 1946. She taught school at Highland Elementary in Plainview. She also taught Kindergarten and First Grade in Cotton Center for 18 years. Mrs. Rieff was the Director of the Hale County Farm and Ranch Museum from 1986-2007. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Plainview. Elouise is survived by her husband: Henry Rieff of Cotton Center; four sons: Ronnie Rieff and his wife Thresa of Lubbock; Jerry Rieff and his wife Marion of Hale Center; Burt Rieff and his wife Lynne of Florence, Alabama; and David Rieff and his wife Sydney of Amarillo. Two sisters: Joyce Neis of Plainview; Tommye Ruth Stallings of Abernathy. Twelve Grandchildren and One Great Grandson.
