Aristeo "A.C." Montelongo, Sr. (Plainview)

Aristeo “A.C.” Montelongo, Sr., 67, of Hale Center, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Hale Center. Funeral mass will be at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Arsenio Redulla officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A rosary service will be held at7 P.M., Friday, March 20, 2009, at the funeral home. Mr. Montelongo was born on September 3, 1941, in Matamoros, Mexico to Rosendo & Tiofila Montelongo. He married Alicia Herrera on March 4, 1962. He moved to Plainview in 1962 and then moved to Hale Center in 1991. He worked at Pioneer Hi-Bred for 23 years and at Hale Center ISD for 6 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Cursillista and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He helped build and raise funds for the church and church classrooms. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, San Juanita Montelongo and two brothers, Dario & Mariano Montelongo. He is survived by his wife, Alicia H. Montelongo, his children, N. Alice Montelongo, A.C. Montelongo, Jr., George Alvarado, Chad Englehardt and Mary Medellin; sisters, Nan Eldredge, Maria L. Alvarado, Jelo DeLa Cruz, Tina Alvarado, Maria Montelongo, Enedelia Montelongo and Evangelina Montelongo; and brothers, Alfredo Marmolejo, Sr., Ernesto Saldana, Ruben Herrera and Roberto Montelongo.
