Tulia, Texas—Walter Conway (W.C.) Teel, 83, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2009 in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ernie McGaughey and Rev. Kay Reed officiating. Private cremation burial will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. W.C. was born November 5, 1925 near Paducah to Walter T. and Mary (Lee) Teel. He served in the US Army during WWII. He married Kathleen Cantrell in Dalhart in 1948. They made their home in Tulia for 57 years prior to moving to Amarillo in 2005. He owned and operated Teel Appliance Service for several years. While in Tulia they were members of First United Methodist Church and after moving to Amarillo they joined St. Paul United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife: Kathy Teel of Amarillo, one daughter: Becky Milner and husband Boyd of Lubbock, three sons: David Teel of Houston, Jerry Teel and wife, Dana of Jackson, Tennessee and Allen Teel and wife, Susan of Abilene, one sister: Betty Gibbs of Tyler and one brother: Bill Teel of Kemp. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 119 N. Briscoe, Tulia, Texas 79088 or to the St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4317 I-40 West, Amarillo, Texas 79106 or a favorite charity.
