Tulia, Texas-Cipriano R. Soliz, 82, died on January 1, 2016 in Tulia, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Marco Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Cipriano was born on March 8, 1933 in Carmen Ranch, Texas to Santos and Paula Soliz. He grew up in Edinburg, TX and later joined the US Army on July 1953. He came home and married Jesusa on December 26, 1956 in Edinburg, TX. He farmed for Hue Pouge, Jim Kirk Patrick, Mark Thompson and Ken Dawson for many years. He also worked for the City of Tulia and worked for Ramirez Torterilla. He retired and stayed home with his wife Jesusa. He is preceded in death by four sons and one daughter, three brothers, one sister, one grandson and his son-in-law. He is survived by his wife Jesusa Soliz of Tulia, two daughters: Enedina Chavez of Tulia and Virgina Soliz of San Antonio; one brother: Margarito Soliz and one sister: Adela Soliz both of Edinburg; four grandchildren: Christopher Chavez, Veronica Barrinetez, Jason Barrientez and Amanda Barrientez; thirteen great grandchildren: Claudia, Alexandria and Isacc Garcia, Zanida, Zadrian Chavez, Trina, Delaina and Randi Hammond, Jaysea and Jaytyn Rickles, Cassie, Adrianna and Justin Barrientez and one great great grandson: Davin Luis Olague.
