Mary T. Castellon (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-Mary T. Castellon, 74, died Saturday, January 2, 2016 in Tulia, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 6, 2016 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Marco Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Mary was born on July 10, 1941 in Antonito, Colorado to Ricardo and Clorinda Martinez. She grew up in an orphanage from the age of 11 until she was 18. She later married Valeriano Castellon in Denver, Colorado on June 24, 1961. Valeriano and Mary moved to Tulia in the 1960’s. She worked for the Tulia Compress for more than 25 years. Valeriano preceded her in death on January 2, 2004. Mary loved to collect buttons and angels. She enjoyed being outside and working on her garden. She is preceded in death by her parents: Ricardo and Clorinda Martinez; her husband: Valeriano Castellon. She is survived by her three daughters: Margarita Sandoval of Amarillo, Clorinda Montanez of Lexington, Nebraska and Michelle Espinal of Plainview; four sons: Valeriano Castellon of Amarillo, Michael Castellon of Plainview, Robert Lee Castellon of Pampa and Paul A. Castellon of Dumas; one brother: Ricardo Martinez of Colorado; twenty grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
