Tulia, Texas—Amy J. Sharp, 92, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Eddy Helms officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Amy was born on April 19, 1923 in Sentinel, Oklahoma, the only child of L.W. and Claudine Smith. She moved to Swisher County at an early age. She attended schools in the Wise Community, Lakeview Community and Tulia where she graduated. She also attended Texas Tech University for two years. She married Frank A. Sharp on October 18, 1946. They moved to the family farm in Castro County and lived there until 2004 when she moved into Tulia. Mr. Sharp passed away on March 19, 2006. Amy was a housewife and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She is survived by her children: Steve Sharp of Tulia, Martha McRee of Tulia, Cathy Hollis of Arlington, Dan Sharp of Wills Point, and Brad Sharp of Tulia, 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
