Oneida Reding Hutto (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Oneida Reding Hutto, 96, of Hart, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 30, 2016 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia with Mr. Johnny McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Oneida was born on September 28, 1919 in Mangum, OK to Will and Vivian Reding. She moved to Whitharral, TX at the age of 5. She grew up there and graduated from Whitharral High School. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Home Economics in 1942. She married Spurgeon R. Hutto on September 28, 1940 in Lubbock. After their marriage they lived in Lubbock for two more years. They moved to Amarillo until 1948 when they moved to Southland, TX and in 1953 they moved to Hart in Castro County and farmed. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dimmitt where she was active in the Missionary Society and a longtime Sunday school teacher. She was also very active in the Home Demonstration Club. Mr. Hutto passed away on February 9, 2008 in Hereford. She is survived by four sons: Dr. Aaron Hutto of Hereford, Drs. Rodney Hutto and wife Nora of Hart, Byron Hutto and wife Patti of Plainview and Keith Hutto and wife Mikal of San Leon, TX, one daughter: Karen Ballinger and husband Lawrence of Lubbock, nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great, great granddaughter.
