Tulia, Texas-Tressie L. Davis Jackson, 73, died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Tulia with Rev. Melvin Tatum officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation/wake will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Tressie was born on July 31, 1942 in Frost, Texas to Robert Williams and Edna Marie Thomas. They moved to Tulia in 1955 where Tressie attended Tulia High School and later received her GED. She then went to nursing school and got her CNA license. She also worked at multiple restaurants in Tulia. In 1974 she started working for the Tuckers as a housekeeper and secretary and retired in 2006. The Tucker family made her feel as part of the family. She loved her mother and her children and was always so caring, sweet, touching person who has never met a stranger. She is preceded in death by two fathers: Robert Williams and J. D. Thomas, her husband: Clifton Jackson, two daughters and a brother: James Gill. She is survived by her daughters: Sharon Shaffer and husband Jonathan of Amarillo, Linda Kay Lestig and husband Vincent of Ft. Worth, Patricia Ann Davis of Amarillo, Linda Fay Releford of Ft. Worth, Janice Marie Strickland and husband Joe Lee of Ft. Worth, Vickie Strickland and husband Vernon of Ft. Worth and Betty Allen of Tulia, three sons: Anthony Ray Davis and wife Ann of Amarillo, Clifford Jackson and wife Latonya of Ft. Worth and Colin Jackson and wife Elonda of Georgia, her mother: Edna Marie Thomas of Ft. Worth, one sister: Thelma Ray of Lubbock, many grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great, great grandchildren.
