Vera E. Phillips (Plainview)

Vera E. Phillips, 78, of Plainview passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2009 in Plainview. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Ron Brunson officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 27, 2009, from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Vera was born May 18, 1930 in Corsicana, Texas and attended schools there. Her family then moved to Heart’s Camp near Olton. She worked many different places including Plains Drug, and Perry’s. She also worked with a home health company for many years before retiring in 1991. She attended the Cowboy Church. She was a part of the Saturday morning Wal-mart group and afternoon Dairy Queen group. Preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Phillips; a son, Ronny Phillips; and a brother, Norman Tackett. She is survived by her children, Karen Hutson of Dimmitt, Joseph Phillips of Carrollton, Debbie Crosby of Plainview; one brother, James Tackett of Evans City, PA; one sister, Ruth Jenkins of Sweeny, Texas; Six grandchildren and Six great grandchildren; and one adopted son, Mark Welch of Carrollton.
