Joaquin Lucio, Sr., 72, of Plainview passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 7, 2016 in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Mnahum Lopez officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A rosary will be held on Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Joaquin was born on September 20, 1943 in Mexico to Louis and Maria Lucio. He married Maria Del Carmen on October 6, 1962. She preceded him in death on May 19, 2015. Mr. Lucio worked for Missouri Beef for many years before becoming disabled. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, two children, Bertha Lucio and Joaquin Lucio and siblings, Pascual Lucio, Maria Cordero and Francisco Lucio. Survivors include a four daughters: Irma Lucio, Teresa Salinas, Bertha Mireles and Eperanza Ramirez; five sons: Gerardo Lucio, Arturo Lucio, Joaquin Lucio, Jr., Efren Lucio and Jesse Lucio; two sisters: Lisa Mendoza and Christina Casilla; twenty eight grandchildren and nineteen grandchildren and counting.
