Billy Jess Street (Plainview)

Billy Jess Street, 86, of Kress passed away on March 10, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Kress Church of Christ with Mr. Jerry Bevill officiating. Interment will follow in Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Street was born on April 4, 1929 to Jess & Glennadine Street in Plainview, Texas. He graduated Kress High School in 1947. Mr. Street attended Wayland for one year where he played basketball before being drafted into the U.S. Army where he served in Germany from 1950 to 1952. He married Corine Freeman on November 5, 1954. Mr. Street farmed with his brother Dale Street for 45 years in the Claytonville Area. After retiring he continued to work on the farm for 12 more years. His love for farming never diminished. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Kress and a long time School Board and Cemetery Board Member. Mr. Street was a member of Farm Bureau for 60 years. He loved high school sports and never missed one of his children’s or grandkids games. He was passionate about the Texas Longhorns even though 19 of his children and grandchildren graduated from Texas Tech University. Billy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Street. He is survived by his wife: Corine Street of Kress; five children: Trent Street & wife Vicki of Belton, Barry Street & wife SuDe of Kress, Jan Davidson & husband Mark of Colleyville, Kendra Andersen & husband Mark of Lubbock and Dana Cole & husband Michael of Dallas, one brother: Dale Street of Plainview; one sister: Glenna Callendar from Odessa; eleven grandchildren: Tara Street, Cody Street & wife Jaclyn, Colton Street & wife Devin, Chase Street, CassiDe Street, Brittany Kinney & husband Colton, Lauren Davidson, Kash Andersen, McCall Andersen, Ashley Schupp & husband Kevin and Brandon Cole; and three great grandchildren: Reese Street, Owen Street and Lane Schupp. Memorials may be made to Kress Cemetery, P.O.
