Diane Easum Goree was born on January 9, 1943 in Oklahoma City, Ok to Cliff and Wilma Easum and passed away on Wednesday March 16, 2016. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. After graduating from Central State University in Edmond OK, Diane took her degree and love for teaching to Plainview, TX where she met and married Jimmy Goree and they spent 47 years together. Diane was a special education teacher in the Plainview School district for 30 years, with most of those years at Plainview High School. She loved children and loved teaching. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jimmy Goree; daughter Julie Powell and husband Lee; daughter Jenny Killian and husband Jared; daughter Jeanie; four grandchildren Conor and Delaney Powell, and Caleb and Erin Killian; sister Margaret Kitch; sister-in-law Leta Moore and husband Randall; brothers-in-law Alton Goree and wife Linda, and Larry Goree and wife Pat and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Saturday March 19, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the Halfway Cemetery in Halfway, Texas. A visitation will be held from 6:30-8 P.M. on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview, Texas. In lieu of flowers make a donation to your favorite charity, Halfway Cemetery, Halfway Fire Department and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
