Gene B. Louder (Plainview)

Rev. Gene B. Louder, 89, of Kress passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Plainview. He was born on February 12, 1927 in Roscoe, Texas to Earl and Juanita Louder of Lubbock. He spent his early years in Roscoe and in Snyder before graduating from Sundeen High School in Corpus Christi. He then attended and graduated from McMurry University and Perkins Theological Seminary of Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He was an ordained United Methodist Pastor for 41 years preaching in the Northwest Texas conference. He retired from active ministry at Kress United Methodist Church in 1992. Survivors include his wife of 56 years Mary Louder of Kress; one son, Monte Louder of Kress; grandson, James Louder; his step-mother, Maxine Louder of Arizona; and several cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Kress United Methodist Church with Rev. Donna Lindley officiating and Rev. Ernie McGaughey and Rev. Weldon Rives assisting. Burial will follow in Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Kress United Methodist Church or the Kress Cemetery Association.
