Pat Partlow (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas- Pat Porter Partlow, 75, of Tulia passed away on May 7, 2009 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 11, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Kay Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Pat was born March 11, 1934 in Sweetwater to Earl and Daphne Porter. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1952 and the graduated from North Texas State (Texas Women’s University) in 1956. She worked for the Amarillo Globe News for a while before moving back to Tulia. She taught at Tulia schools for 35 years. She was awarded the teacher of the year in Tulia in 1971. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She married Elmer Pete Partlow on August 9, 1980 in Tulia. He preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1983. Survivors include one sister, Viva Jeanice Weatherly of Clarendon; Nieces and Nephews, Elizabeth Ann Burton and husband Oran of Stinnett, William T. Weatherly, Jr. and wife Sandy of Pullman, Washington, Jan Noble and Lacy Lee of Pampa, Sandi Long and husband Jim of Houston, Ronnie Porter of Houston, David Porter of Houston, Debi Jensen and husband Erick of Nededland; Numerous Great and Great Great Nieces and Nephews; and caregiver and best friend, Tina Garcia of Tulia. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or Odyssey Hospice of Amarillo.
