David M. Julian (Plainview)

David M. Julian, 70, of Plainview passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2009, in Lubbock. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Plainview with Dr. Travis Hart officiating, assisted by Kenneth Coates. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Julian was born December 10, 1938, in Hale County, Texas, to Arthur and Doris Julian. He married Lanell Johnson on July 14, 1962, in Lockney. David graduated from Plainview High School in 1957. He was a member of the Plainview Association of Realtors where he served in every office. He received the Realtor of the Year Award, The Doug Graham Memorial Award and The Pinnacle Award. He was Lion of the Year for The Evening Lion’s Club. He was a member of The Plainview Lion’s Club. He was also the Texas Lion’s Camp Director. David was a Century Club Key Holder for the Lion’s Club and won the Jack Wiech Fellow Award. He was on the Plainview Board for Planning and Zoning and the Building Code Trades and Adjustment. He was a Boy Scout Master for Troop 253. Mr. Julian won the Shining Star Award for the American Cancer Society in 1998. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He loved hunting and fishing and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Julian is survived by his wife, Lanell Julian of Plainview; two daughters, Karyn McLean & husband Brian of Copeville and Kristine Campbell & husband Joe of Plainview; four sisters, Dovie Harding & husband Paul of Lubbock, Maxine Vernon & husband Alvin of Lubbock, Peggy Willis & husband Gary of Decatur and Pearl Cory & husband John of Lubbock; his mother, Doris Julian Borum of Plainview; eight grandchildren, Amber McLean, Amanda McLean, Abagail McLean, Amy McLean, Richard McLean, Daniel McLean, Russell David Julian and Kourtney Campbell and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Elizabeth Claire and Adalyn Grace. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Texas Lion’s Camp, PO Box 290247, Kerrville, Texas 78029.
