Dorothy Jean Chandler Kennedy (Plainview)

Dorothy Jean Chandler Kennedy went Home to the Lord on May 22, 2016. She was born February 18, 1933 to Lester and Leta Chandler in Plainview, Texas. She raised her family in Plainview and then lived and worked in Tucumcari, NM from 1977 to 2014. She was very active in church and Sunday School all her life. She enjoyed her large collections of dolls and salt and pepper shakers and crafts. In the summer of 2014, Dorothy transplanted to Vermont to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Dorothy was very thankful for the friends and Tucumcari Senior Center that made it possible for her to stay in her own home for as long as possible. She is pre-deceased by one son, Wayne; one great granddaughter; both parents, two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Vickie and Roland Bugbee; Granddaughters and families: Shannon, George, Peyton and Paxton Kirkland; Shalyn, Craig and Aubrey Cox; Amber, Jay and Jaiden Puckett; and Courtney Kennedy; sister, Gae Chandler; sisters-in-law Linda and Lela Chandler; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. June 10, 2016 in the Kress Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tucumcari Senior Center, P.O.
